Bit Craftsman is a Canadian online coding tournament organization owned by Layer Chess Club. I started Bit Craftsman as I wanted small software engineers and computer programmers to have a word in the coding community. I noticed that it is often hard for people to achieve that, as a ton of coding tournaments are big. However, these small-winded tournaments, with more creativity being allowed, are much easier for people to show their potential.
Judging
Our judging is more based on creativity. We make our tournaments with a certain scenario/theme, but not certain enough which allows players to explore their options and show their potential.
Categories
Application: 15%
This is the ability to fulfill the requirements of the scenario with a clear use of effort and hard work.
Thinking and Inquiry: 35%
This is the ability to analyze a scenario and push it to its limit, with deep thinking compared to basic principles and basic skills.
When it comes to our tournaments, this is the main thing we are looking for. We would recommend you try to think outside the box as much as possible when designing your project.
Knowledge and Understanding: 30%
This is the ability to understand the code you have made and the skills that you have built through your past experience and education.
Communication: 20%
This is the ability to prove and convey a certain point through your project with unique ideas and feelings, while also making sure that the scenario is fulfilled.
